Initial Meeting - Saturday January 23 afternoon from 3- 4:30 pm – This is the initial meeting to discuss the format for the other meetings which I think might need break out rooms etc. as I want to run them less like formal presentations and more like living room discussions of great places to go with a few slides. Jan Petrar, author and former travel director, will join the discussion to give a short presentation and join in a Q &A regarding what to expect of the travel industry in the near future. Follow-up events:
“Great Getaways” (Second Saturday of the month 3 – 4:30 pm) are short presentations on short trips, local getaways, hikes, canoeing, bike trips etc . These are likely to be of interest if indeed BC closes its borders and we are looking at local tourism for the summer months.
“Wandering Ways” (Fourth Saturday of the month 3- 5 pm) will be single longer slide show presentations of international travel or maybe Canadian travel such as Canoe Trips, Hiking the Cabot Trail etc. great for people who are interested in building their bucket list.
